Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a major organizational restructuring, splitting its AI.Cloud business unit into two distinct verticals—Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud—to sharpen its strategic focus and capitalize on rapidly growing market demands in both sectors.
Originally launched about two years ago, the AI.Cloud division had been one of the company’s fastest-growing segments, outperforming TCS’s average business growth. The decision to bifurcate the unit aims to maximize value creation by enabling deeper specialization and more targeted service offerings.
Siva Ganesan, a senior executive at TCS, has been appointed to lead the newly formed AI and Data business, now known as the AI Data unit. He emphasized the growing role of AI across industries, stating that integrating data services with AI is now critical for driving client transformation.
To support this strategic shift, TCS is actively recruiting specialized AI talent while also revamping its internal training programs to upskill existing employees for AI-driven roles. This move aligns with broader industry trends emphasizing AI readiness and talent development.
On the cloud side, Krishna Mohan, formerly the deputy head of AI.Cloud, will now take the helm of the Cloud unit, which will continue to support enterprises in building scalable and secure cloud infrastructures.
Additionally, TCS has named Ashok Krish and Satish Byravan as the Global Heads of AI and Data, respectively, underscoring the importance of leadership in both domains.
Company officials pointed out that while AI and Cloud are being treated as separate business verticals, they remain deeply interconnected, especially for clients whose current data infrastructure is not yet fully equipped for AI implementation. TCS aims to provide integrated solutions that help businesses evolve their IT architecture to become AI-ready.
This reorganization reflects TCS’s commitment to remain at the forefront of digital transformation, leveraging its core strengths to deliver next-gen AI and cloud services to clients worldwide.
