Swiggy Appoints Atul Handa as VP to Lead Instamart Growth Strategy

In a strategic move aimed at reinforcing its position in the quick-commerce segment, Swiggy has appointed Atul Handa as Vice President for Instamart, its instant grocery delivery division. The decision underscores Swiggy’s commitment to accelerating leadership strength, enhancing operational innovation, and improving customer engagement in one of its fastest-growing verticals.

Handa brings to Swiggy over 16 years of cross-industry experience, having held leadership roles in sectors such as FMCG, Alcobev, white goods, pharmaceuticals, and fashion. His diverse background, coupled with entrepreneurial success in digital marketing, equips him with the skills to both scale new businesses and grow large, established enterprises.

Prior to joining Swiggy, Handa served as Senior Director at Myntra, where he was instrumental in crafting customer-centric strategies and driving revenue growth. His tenure at Myntra was marked by key innovations in fashion retail and digital engagement. He also held senior roles at Flipkart, one of India’s leading e-commerce platforms, where he built high-performing teams and led transformational initiatives.

Swiggy announced his appointment via its official LinkedIn handle, stating, “We are delighted to announce the arrival of a new Swiggster – Atul Handa… With 16 years of rich, multi-industrial experience, he really has done it all.”

Handa’s career began as a Summer Trainee at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), followed by a role as a Researcher at TNS India. He later joined PepsiCo, managing marketing for three South Asian countries, and also served as Marketing Manager at the Modi Group. His tenure at Zydus Wellness further honed his skills as a market researcher and strategist.

An alumnus of Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA), Handa holds a PGDM in Communications with a focus on Brand Management and Marketing Research. He possesses deep expertise in business analysis, strategy development, customer insight, Cognos analytics, and digital marketing.

His appointment comes at a critical time for Instamart, as Swiggy looks to consolidate its leadership in the competitive quick-commerce space. With Handa at the helm, Swiggy aims to drive sustainable growth, foster innovation, and deliver enhanced value to its customers and stakeholders.
