Apple’s most-expensive Mac goes on sale in India at Rs 4,15,000

Apple’s most-expensive desktop computer-ever, the iMac Pro, is now available in India. Gadgets  Now spoke to an authorized Apple retailer and he confirmed the availability for us, saying it is not available at all the stores yet but can be purchased by ordering.

To remind the readers, Apple had already announced the Indian price of the device to be Rs 4,15,000 but the date of availability wasn’t confirmed.

Claimed to be the fastest, most powerful Mac ever, the iMac Pro is the first Mac to feature 10GB Ethernet for up to 10 times faster networking.

The Apple iMac Pro features a 5mm thin space grey coloured seamless aluminium and glass enclosure of thermal architecture that enables the iMac Pro to deliver up to 80 percent more cooling capacity. It offers a 27-inch 5K Retina display of 5120 x 2880 pixels resolution, the highest graphics seen in any iMac. The display supports 1 billion colours and 500 nits brightness and a P3 wide colour gamut.

The all-in-one will come with a Space Gray Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse 2.
The workstation is powered by a 3.2GHz eight-core Intel Xeon CPU with turbo boost up to 4.2GHz and 19MB cache. This device comes with 32GB of 2666MHz DDR4 ECC memory and 1TB internal storage. It runs macOS High Sierra operating system and offers Bluetooth 4.2.

Featuring a next-generation compute core and up to 16GB of on-package high-bandwidth memory (HBM2), with the Vega GPU the iMac Pro delivers up to 11 Teraflops of single-precision compute power for real-time 3-D rendering and high frame rate VR. And for half-precision computation, ideal for machine learning, iMac Pro delivers up to a 22 Teraflops of performance. iMac Pro also supports up to 4TB of SSD and up to 128GB of ECC memory.
iMac Pro also comes with a new 1080p Face Time HD camera with enhanced low-light performance, four microphones with beamforming technology and new speakers that are up to 50% louder. Besides this, the iMac Pro also supports VR, developer workflows, high megapixel photography, audio projects, complex simulations and real-time 4K and 8K video editing.

With four Thunderbolt 3 (Type-C) ports, it can connect to two high-performance RAID arrays and two 5K displays at the same time.
