Vikas Gupta:- How is Kobian looking at its Indian operations? What are the top most priorities here?

Sushmita Das :- For Kobian the top priority is to design and bring products best suited for the requirement in India in the affordable price range.We work on high quality standards to give better products to the masses.The service and after sales is one of the high priorities for us in India

Vikas Gupta:- How Kobian could introduce products with low price?

Sushmita Das :- Kobian has been in such products for decades. People do categorise IT  , Phones , Tablets separately but in actual scenario IT peripherals and Tablets are natural extension of each other. We have our manufacturing strengths in terms of PCB , Display screen , NAND Flash and Camera lens which are the key components of the Tablet business. Thus our experience in above lines brings in the competitive edge to us.

Vikas Gupta:- What are the strategies you are considering while introducing a product in India?

Sushmita Das :- We plan our distribution and support network in a manner that we are able to reach to the urban and rural markets with the same zeal. Our marketing programmes and schemes are different based on the cities where they are launched.

Vikas Gupta:- What are your upcoming technologies for India?

Sushmita Das :- We are very excited with 2-3 new launches  . Tablets with unique features which shall make technology not only desirable but shall replace many of the gadgets which we carry simultaneously . We shall be able to share more details as n when we launch new range.

Vikas Gupta:- What kind of verticals are you targeting and what is your go to market strategy for your product range in India?

Sushmita Das :- Our strategy is to remain focused in our sphere on business with open eyes and earstowards the changing face of technology. We are focusing on R&D to bring in state of the art technology products, newer innovative products and exciting additions to the existing PC Peripheral series. Our expertise is in the product technology and bundling features for creating an everlasting experience for the user. We do couple up the product launch with marketing programs and festive schemes to make the product and the offering attractive for all.We are planning to focus on product quality and profitable business for our partners.

Vikas Gupta:- How many product and solutions are you offering to the channel community at present?

Sushmita Das :- We offer a range of over 20 product categories in PC peripheral line up starting from Motherboards, Chassis, SMPS, UPS, LED monitors to Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers, Bluetooth products and accesories.

In the Mobility division we offer a range of Tablets from 7in to 10.1 in in both wifi and 3G options.

Vikas Gupta:- How many channel partners are working with Kobian at present?

Sushmita Das :- We are looking at some strong partners for North and West India . These are two main focus areas for us. South and East are pretty well stabilized.

There shall be a number of partners mapped and discussions are on for partnering with new retail and mobile partners.

Vikas Gupta:- What are the new challenges that you face in relation to the Indian market?

Sushmita Das :- With a strong R&D team at Kobian, we are open for any kind of challenges and are been able to overcome them in past years. With newer technologies, the major challenges would be with the clearance of existing products, investment and shipment.

Vikas Gupta:- How is the company positioned currently and what is your strategic roadmap for the year ahead?

Sushmita Das :- Kobian realises the slow pace of PC business, but the market shall have a stable situation for next couple of years and we continue to work with technology leaders to make the PC peripheral options designed to mee the requirement. We offer a complete rainbow of motherboards catering to the entry, value and performance gaming segment.

Similarly all other peripherals are also planned to be supplied in the market.

Kobian is highly focusing on the growing Mobile PC market of Tablets and Smartphones. Our roadmap on this range is on dual and quad core models with the latest OS versions
