YouTube is reportedly planning to launch a paid music streaming service. The company has received criticism based on rumours that the current free video website may be blocking the videos of labels that do not agree to the company’s terms and conditions. In a statement issued by YouTube, the company said that it had partnered with “hundreds of major and independent” music labels for this new service.

YouTube has been reportedly planning to block the content from certain labels from appearing on the free website, which is supported by ads unless the labels agree to participate in the new subscription driven music streaming service. YouTube is reportedly offering a “highly unfavourable and non-negotiable” deals to these labels. This was reported by the Worldwide Independent Music Industry Network Limited.
No comment was received from Google, or YouTube itself, about the allegations. The company though did say that the endeavour would bring new revenue into the music industry.
