Xiaomi Mi box gets Android 7.0 Nougat beta build
Xiaomi has finally rolled out Android 7.0 Nougat beta build on its Mi Box Android TV. The Chinese tech firm at the time of the launch of the Mi Box promised to bring Android N to the device.
It has been mentioned that the beta build doesn’t bring any major cosmetic changes to the Mi Box. However, it adds new features such as multi-tasking, enhanced settings menu and support for multiple Google accounts. There is also a picture-in-picture support along with the DVR function in the Live Channels app.
As mentioned by the 9to5Google some features are missing and broken. There is no HDR support for Netflix, Dolby Digital 5.1 tech, no auto refresh rate switching and issues with HD Audio in Kodi. The company has not yet announced when it will be making the final OS version available for the Android TV device.
Xiaomi Mi 6 announced, the company’s first 6GB RAM smartphone
On the smartphones front, the Chinese tech firm launched its brand new flagship smartphone – Mi 6 – at an event in its home country.
Powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 flagship SoC, Xiaomi Mi 6 has 6GB of RAM. The smartphone sports a 5.15-inch Full HD display, which the company claims satisfies China’s colour standards and prevents discomfort caused due to colour shifts. It is the first Xiaomi smartphone that doesn’t include a 3.5mm audio jack.
There are two variants available based on internal storage – 64GB and 128GB.
Running Android 7.0 Nougat operating system topped with MIUI skin, the Xiaomi Mi 6 has a dual rear camera setup with 12MP lenses (one wide-angle and one telephoto), OIS and 4K video recording capability. There is also an 8MP selfie camera included.

Xiaomi Mi 6 will come in three colour variants — White, Black and Blue – as well as a special ceramic edition. The 64GB variant is priced at CNY 2,499, while the 128GB version costs CNY 2,899. The ceramic edition (128GB storage) has a price tag of CNY 2,999.
