Xiaomi Mi 6 to launch in March, says company’s co-founder

X56598749iaomi has been rumoured to launch its next flagship smartphone – Mi 6, in the first half of 2017. And now, the company’s co-founder and vice-president Li Wanqiang, speaking at the recently-held Geek Park Innovation conference, has revealed that the handset will be unveiled in March. Along with this, a report by GizmoChina website has mentioned that the Chinese company may unveil the handset at MWC 2017, due to be held in February. A report suggested that Xiaomi may launch two variants of the Mi 6. One will come with a flat screen and other will have a dual-curved display. The latter is expected to be dubbed Mi 6 Pro. While Mi 6 will offer 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, the Mi 6 Pro is expected to come with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The report further highlights that the Mi 6 will have a physical Home button and an embedded fingerprint sensor. It’s also expected to have a dual rear camera setup. Previous reports about the Mi 6 have suggested that it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. The device is also claimed to be backed by a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support.

Xiaomi is all set to launch its Redmi Note 4 smartphone in India on January 19. The handset was launched in China last year.
In terms of specifications, the Redmi Note 4 features a 5.5-inch Full HD display of 1080×1920 pixel resolution. Powering the handset is a 2.1GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor coupled with 2GB/3GB of RAM. It offers 16GB/64GB of internal storage with support for microSD cards.
The dual-SIM capable Redmi Note 4 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It sports a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and dual-tone LED flash, along with a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies. On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, GLONASS and microUSB. It is equipped with a fingerprint sensor and is backed by a huge 4,100mAh battery.
