Xiaomi Mi 5X specifications leaked ahead of July 26 launch

Xiaomi’s soon-to-be-launched smartphone – Mi 5X – has been spotted on FCC’s certification website, revealing some of its key specifications. As per the listing, the smartphone will come with a 3,000mAh battery and have a USB Type-C port, in addition to a 10W adapter (5V @2A) for charging support.

The Mi 5X has already crossed over 2,00,000 registrations for its first sale, set to begin in less than 24 hours. According to media reports, the company will be launching the smartphone on July 25. Xiaomi has also tweeted a few posts through its official handle, confirming the launch.

There has been a lot of speculation about the smartphone since the last few days. The Mi 5X will allegedly be the first Xiaomi smartphone to debut under the company’s new sub-brand, which will also be revealed on July 26. Looking at an image tweeted by the company, it can be assumed that the smartphone will have a dual camera setup at the back, in addition to dual-LED flash and fingerprint sensor.

Some images and specifications of Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi 5X were leaked on Chinese social networking website Weibo recently. As per the leaks, the smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch Full-HD display. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, in addition to 4GB of RAM. Leaks have further suggested that the Mi 5X will come with some sort of an optical zoom.

Recently, Xiaomi launched its Mi Max 2 phablet with 5,300mAh battery in India. Priced at Rs 16,999, the handset is the successor to last year’s Mi Max. The Mi Max 2 features a huge 6.44-inch Full-HD display of 1080×1920 pixel resolution. The display is protected with a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The device runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system, with the company’s MIUI skin layer on top.
