Xiaomi May Release Its First Laptop Early Next Year
Earlier this month, it was reported that tech firm Xiaomi is making a Linux laptop . However, there was no confirmation regarding the same. But now the tech firm has officially announced that it might launch the notebook the much-anticipated notebook within next year. Reports also reveal that the Chinese vendor is working very closely with Inventec for its development.
Inventec has previously joined hands with Xiaomi for manufacturing mobiles. Richard Lee, chairman, Inventec Corp has revealed his plans of tying up with the firm, this time for making the first notebook computer product.
“I am upbeat about the business outlook for Xiaomi’s notebook computers, as the firm has more than 200 million registered smartphone users, I am not sure if the smartphone approach will be applicable to notebooks, but I expect Xiaomi’s entry into the notebook industry to bring something new to the market,” Lee reveals.
If rumours are to be believed, Xiaomi is all set to borrow the design from Apple’s Macbook range. As most of its handsets do flaunt Apple iPhone’s design, a Xiaomi laptop sporting a macbook’s design won’t come as a surprise though.
The laptop is all set to sport a 38.1cm (15-inch) display which is considered as the most popular screen size in its home country. Powered by an Intel Core i7-4500U chip, the device would come with two 8GB RAM modules. Priced at Rs 32,000, the laoptop would venture in the Indian market too.
