Xiaomi launches Redmi Note 4 smartphone, price starts at Rs 9,999

The Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi has announced its first ‘major launch’ of the year 2017. The company launched Redmi Note 4 smartphone at an event in New Delhi today.
Though Xiaomi launched a smartphone with the same name (Redmi Note 4) in August 2016 in China, the company claims that the Redmi Note 4 version launched in India today is a different smartphone. According to Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 4 launched in the country has made its global debut today. However, features of the smartphone launched are almost same as those of Redmi Note 4 launched in China last year, except for the processor.
The company also claimed that Redmi Note 4 is the best smartphone available in its price segment. Redmi Note 4 sports a metallic unibody with round edges. It has a 5.5-inch full-HD display, offering wide-viewing angles. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2.2GHz. The users can further expand the storage up to 128GB by installing a microSD card. The smartphone comes in three variants — 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow topped with the company’s native MI UI 8 skin. It is backed by a 4100mAh battery and also comes with an IR blaster and the Mi remote control app. On the camera front, the Note 4 has a 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and 5MP front camera. The dual-sim smartphone offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Glonass and micro-USB as connectivity options.
