Popular cross-platform mobile messaging app WhatsApp has rolled-out its much-hyped new version 2.12.84 for Android users. With an all new Android L-like Material Design user interface, the application is all set to surprise its fans across the globe. Though, WhatsApp had undergone these changes almost a month ago, the design with cleaner layouts and new icons, was available only through the official website of WhatsApp.
The new version has a deep green coloured title bar and neatly integrates calls, chats and contacts tabs along with search, message and option. Also, the display pictures are now bigger, better and appear similar to a Facebook profile page. While an enlarged profile picture, the attachment section also features big round icons. If a user clicks on the attachment icon in a chat window, it displays various options like gallery, photos, video, audio, location, and contact.
While the emoji icons remain the same, the tray holding them has changed from black to grey. Also, the little pointer arrows of the speech bubbles have been modified. In addition, the recording icon has a green dot as its background. Interestingly, the screen for sharing photos and videos look much brighter and sharper too.
