Vivo X9s, Vivo X9s Plus smartphones may launch on July 6 in China

Vivo is all set to launched two new smartphones that are speculated to be the successors of the company’s Vivo X9 and Vivo X9 Plus. The new smartphones, likely to be called Vivo X9s and Vivo X9s Plus, will be launching in Beijing, China, on July 6. The company has reportedly sent out press invites for the same and also posted a teaser image as well.

According to a report in Playfuldroid, the teaser doesn’t reveal anything substantial but it it does show the back side of one of the smartphones. The handset is seen with a single-rear camera setup, like the X9 and the X9 Plus.

Although there is no word on the smartphone’s specifications, the X9s Plus variant reportedly showed up on Tenaa recently, as spotted by GSM Arena. According to the alleged Tenaa listing, the Vivo X9s Plus will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and will sport a 5.85-inch screen with full-HD (108×1920 pixels) display.

The smartphone is supposed to be powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.85GHz. The processor will be clubbed with 4GB RAM.

On the camera front, the Vivo X9s Plus is said to come with a 16MP rear camera along with a dual-front-facing camera setup including 20MP and 5MP sensor. The device includes 64GB inbuilt storage and is said to be backed by a 3920mAh battery.

There is no word as to when the company plans to launch its X9s and the X9s Plus smartphones in India. Since the X9 and the X9 Plus were never launched in India, it is not sure if the company will launch X9s and the X9s Plus.

Earlier this week, Vivo partnered with Qualcomm. The company showcased its ‘ultrasonic’ on-screen fingerprint sensor on a customised Vivo Xplay6 smartphone at the MWC 2017 conference.
