Toshiba launches Portege X20W convertible laptop

56335190Besides Lenovo, Acer, Dell and HP, Toshiba too launched a new laptop at a pre-CES 2017 event at Las Vegas. The company introduced its Portege X20W 2-in-1 convertible PC, running Windows 10 Pro. The pricing and availability details of the laptop are not out yet. However, the device will go on sale via Microsoft Store.

Toshiba Portege X20W features a 360-degree, dual-action hinge that allows users to prop it at any position. It measures 15.4mm and weighs less than 1.1kg. It is also rated to deliver up to 16 hours of battery life on a single charge.

Toshiba Portege’s 360-degree hinge lets users keep it in five viewing modes – Laptop, Tablet, Tabletop, Presentation and Audience. The device can also switche system settings when the laptop mode is changed.

The Portege X20W has an integrated omnidirectional microphone and IR cameras for using Cortana digital assistant and Windows Hello security authentication. The laptop is powered by Intel’s 7th-gen ‘Kaby Lake’ processor and features a 12.5-inch Full-HD resolution multi-touch display with wide-viewing angles. It also comes with a TruPen stylus having Wacom Feel technology.

The laptop has a USB Type-C port, USB 3.0 port and headphone/mic combo port, alongside Harman Kardon stereo speakers powered by DTS Sound software.

Talking about laptops, major manufacturers like Dell, HP, Asus and others launched their laptops ahead of CES 2017. Majority of these run on Intel’s newly-launched 7th-gen ‘Kaby Lake’ processors.

Dell recently unveiled its upgraded Alienware 13, 15, and 17 notebooks. It also introduced two new laptops for gamers – Inspiron 14 7000 Gaming and the Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming.

Acer, too, revealed Predator 21X’s price and availability, besides launching three new monitors.
