Sony PS4 Neo Confirmed, Won’t Be At E3
Since past few months, we have been hearing rumours that Sony might be launching a new version of its PlayStation 4 console at the upcoming E3 gaming expo , set to begin June 14. However, the Japanese tech giant neither denied nor confirmed the existence of a new PS4 version – PS4 ‘Neo,’ until now.
Sony has finally cleared the air and revealed that its 4K-capable Sony PS4 ‘Neo’ will be coming for sure, but not during the E3 gaming conference.
The president and group CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment Andrew House, when asked about the PS4 ‘Neo,’ said that “It is intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4″. He further added that the company will be selling both PS4 versions throughout its life cycle.
For those who are wondering if the high end PS4 ‘Neo’ will support the video games made for the PS4 or not, House has confirmed that, “all games will support the standard PS4 and we anticipate all or a very large majority of games will also support the high-end PS4.”
In addition, House said that ‘Neo’ is just the codename of the high-end upcoming PS4 gaming console, and it would not see the light of the day during the approaching E3 gaming conference. As for the price tag, the console will definitely be priced higher than $350.
Rival Microsoft is also rumoured to introduce its slimmer, more compact Xbox One at E3. The Verge website says that the company is planning to bring an Xbox version that is 40% smaller than the current Xbox One. Two Xbox streaming devices are also rumoured to be launched at E3.
