SanDisk iXpand Flash Drive For iPhone And iPad With USB 3.0 Launched Starting @ Rs.3990

SanDisk Corporation  added a whole range of new storage products to its line-up of mobile memory products.

The highlight of the upgraded portfolio is the brand new SanDiskiXpand flash drive for iOS devices. The next-generation iXpand flash drive has been designed to help users quickly free up space on their iPhones and iPads . It is available in capacities of up to 128GB and has a design that allows it to be used with almost all iPhone/iPad cases.

The iXpand flash drive has a lightning connector and a regular USB 3.0 connector that lets users seamlessly transfer photos, videos and other files between iOS devices and PCs. The drive comes with SanDisk’s own SecureAccess software that can be used to encrypt files.

SanDisk’s new iXpand flash drive will be initially available exclusively on Amazon India, with prices starting at Rs 3,990 for 16GB variant. The flash drive is compatible with all iPhones, iPads and iPods running iOS 8.2 or later.

SanDisk also unveiled a redesigned ‘iXpand Drive’ app for iOS, that lets users manage the content on iXpand flash drive. The new app comes with a built-in camera function so that users can directly save videos and photos on the flash drive. It also has its own music player that can play iTunes based music directly from the iXpand flash drive. The app even makes it possible to backup content from social networking sites such as Facebook and Instagram.

Other than the new iXpand flash drive and the companion app, SanDisk also talked about its Connect Wireless Stick which is now available in 200GB capacity. The SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick lets users wirelessly stream and share content among multiple computers and mobile devices. It can be managed through the SanDisk Connect app, available for both iOS and Android devices.

Lastly, the company also showcased its SanDisk Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-II card that’s its fastest card yet. The SanDisk Extreme PRO delivers transfer speeds of up to 275MB/s and is available in capacities of 64GB and 128GB. The card is ideal for shooting Full HD and 4K videos, and comes with a USB 3.0 card reader as well.

SanDisk also showed Ultra Dual USB 3.0 drive, designed to provide 128GB of on-the-go storage to USB-compatible smartphones.

The company also showed off Ultra USB Type-C flash drives, designed to provide immediate storage expansion to devices coming with USB Type-C ports. The flash drive is backed by a five-year warranty and is available in capacities ranging from 16GB to 128GB.
