Samsung India is undergoing restructuring for increasing its focus on digital marketing and sales. This is in an effort to establish a dedicated online team. Around five top executives are going to be reassigned portfolios commencing 1 January 2016. The move is going to imply major transformations at the operation level for Samsung.
There has been slowdown in the consumer goods sector and experts are asking companies to increase their presence on digital platforms. As per sources, Asim Warsi, vice-president for mobile and information technology, will be heading Samsung’s online division. He will be responsible for the marketing and sales of all products, including consumer electronics. Warsi will take over the task of strengthening and establishing relationships with online sales partners, product planning and market sensing.
Rajeev Bhutani is going to be heading the consumer electronics division of Samsung India. His new role is going to be full of challenges as in 2015 many factors affected the sales of electronic items. These included unseasonal rain, low growth in minimum support prices, and lack of disposable income among rural households.
