Samsung Galaxy S8+ full specifications revealed

538430-galaxy-j2-ace-samsungSamsung’s upcoming Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ are expected to launch in April this year. But until now, there was no information on the exact date of the smartphones’ launch. But if a new report is to be believed, the company will be launching the devices in March and start shipping in April. Interestingly, the release dates for rival LG’s upcoming flagship G6 have also been mentioned.
As mentioned by ET News, a Korean website, Samsung will be introducing Galaxy S8 in the US on March 29 and will make it available to the customers starting April 21. The handset’s India launch details have not been mentioned yet.
As for the LG G6, the company is expected to announce the smartphone at its February 26 pre-MWC 2017 conference and will start selling it from March 10. The smartphone will be available for pre-orders between March 2-9.
The report further adds that Samsung had initially decided to launch the flagship Galaxy S8 smartphone globally on April 21, and a week before that in South Korea. But due to issues cropping up in the supplies department, the launch in South Korea had to be shifted from March 14 to March 21.
The gap of almost a month between the sales of the two flagship smartphones could be directly related to the chipsets they are launching with.
A recent report by Forbes website claimed that since Samsung has called dibs on the initial set of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processors, other OEMs will take more time to launch their flagships with the same SoC. LG G6 is launching before the Galaxy S8, so it might use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820/821 chipset.
LG has already confirmed that its upcoming flagship smartphone will include an unusual display resolution of 1440×2880 pixels. Recently, it also teased the smartphone’s user interface and camera details in couple of videos. However, Samsung has not confirmed anything about the Galaxy S8.
