Samsung Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo update starts rolling out

Samsung Galaxy S8 users: the wait is finally over. The South Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung has finally started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo update for its flagship smartphone Galaxy S8 in Germany.

Along with the Oreo update, the smartphone also gets Galaxy U.X 9.0 which brings new features to the smartphone. After the update, the quick panel will now show notification channels which will enable users to manage the notifications for each app and will also show the app icon at the bottom of the notification.
Users just have to tap and hold on any of the icon on the screen in order to display the shortcut to common tasks within the app. Moreover, the notification badges on app icons and in the notification panel are synced together as well. The Android Oreo, on the other hand, limits the background services so that it can save the battery and also improve the performance of the device.

The company claims that the Edge screen is also enhanced with better colour, font size and visibility. The company has also incorporated three more edge lighting effects and app colour customisation. The dual messenger feature is now available which enables users to run two apps at the same time. Users can add second space to the device via the settings menu.

Along with this, users will also be able to use the Game launcher in Samsung DeX for full-screen gaming experience. The company has also improved Bluetooth connectivity and audio quality of the smartphone. The voice recorder now offers a smart option which block calls while recording. The company has also improved the security feature for Samsung Pay.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Android Oreo update weighs 487MB and it also includes the latest security patch. It is expected to roll out globally in the coming weeks.
