Reliance JioPhone is now available on Amazon India’s website, but conditions apply

If you have been waiting to buy Reliance Jio’s feature phone JioPhone, this may be the chance. Several vendors are selling the 4G feature phone on Amazon India’s website. GadgetsNow saw as many as 12 different vendors selling the device.
The price of the handset varies from seller to seller, and so does the delivery charge and estimated time for delivery. The minimum price at which the handset is available on the e-marketplace is Rs 1,619 (Rs 1,582 + Rs 37 delivery charges) from a seller going by the name Ganga Communication Center. The maximum price that the JioPhone is listed at is Rs 2,490.
It is not not clear if the handset will come with bundled with a Jio SIM or customers will have to get the SIM from a Reliance Jio (or authourised) stores. As far as SIM activation is concerned, buyers will have to visit Jio stores as per the information shared by vendors.
The product description also states that the customers will not receive any bill and that only the box is required to claim warranty at service centres. The vendors are offering has one-year warranty in JioPhone, valid at all Jio Stores across the country.
The JioPhone was launched in July last year at Rs 1,500. The amount is refundable after three years, making the effective price of the device as ‘zero’. The device, when it first went on booking, received a overwhelming response. The company, in fact, had to suspend the bookings after less than 24 hours of the pre-bookings going live.
In terms of specs, the JioPhone sports a 2.4-inch QVGA (320×240 pixels) display. Powering the handset is a 1.2GHz dual-core SPRD 9820A/QC8905 processor coupled with Mali-400 and 512MB RAM. It runs on KAI OS, a reminiscent of the Firefox OS and has single-SIM (Nano SIM) functionality.
Besides featuring FM Radio, the JioPhone also offers 4G LTE connectivity, along with Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS and USB 2.0.For imaging duties, the JioPhone sports 2MP rear camera and a front-facing 0.3MP camera. As for the storage, the device offers 4GB inbuilt space, as well as a microSD card support of up to 128GB. The feature phone is backed by a 2000mAh Li-Po battery that is claimed to deliver up to 12 hours of talk-time and 15 days of standby time on a single charge.
Reliance says its JioPhone supports 22 Indian languages feature phone and is only available Black colour option.
