Quick Heal Technologies Limited collaborates with CERT-In for ‘Cyber Swachhta Kendra’

Through this collaboration:
• Quick Heal will support the ‘Cyber Swachhta Kendra’ by providing its‘Bot Removal tool’to CERT-In
• The collaboration aims at empowering users to deal with cyberattacks, botnets and malware
• Quick Heal has been working closely with CERT-In to address the increasing and complex problems associated with computer and cyber security

Sanjay Katkar, MD & CTO, Quick Heal Technologies Limited (2nd from right) with Electronics & IT Minister Ravi Shankar PrasadLeading IT and network security solutions provider Quick Heal Technologies Limited will be collaborating with Indian Computer Emergency Response Team, also referred as CERT-In for its ‘Cyber Swachhta Kendra’. CERT-In will be providing Quick Heal’s ‘Bot Removal tool’ free of cost to its users. The indigenously developed tool will continuously monitor the threat landscape for new bots and prevent them fromdamaging the user’s device by creating an antidote for every bot.

In India, approximately 50% of PCs and laptops do not have a security software installed and are hence, exposed to cyberattacks. To address this challenge, Quick Heal has been closely working with CERT-Into develop effective solutions to deal with cyberattacks. CERT-In is the nodal agency responsible for dealing with cyber incidents in the country.
The Cyber Swachhta Kendra is a Botnet Cleaning and Malware Analysis Centre (BCMAC), inaugurated byMinister of Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad on February 21, 2017. BCMACis a part of the Government’s Digital India initiative under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

It has been anhonour to collaborate with CERT-In and support them in their various endeavours which are aimed at creating a cyber secure country.”

Director General, CERT-In Dr. Sanjay Bahl mentioned “We are glad that we are working with Quick Heal and other security vendors. The users are advised to visit the Cyber Swachhta Kendra portal from where they can download free cleaning tools for computers and mobiles. Around 3900 users have so far downloaded the tools. We look forward to continued collaboration with security vendors for providing solutions to citizens.

Quick Heals ‘Bot Removal tool’ helps in detecting and removing any botnet infection including the latest bot malware. The Botnet Cleaning and Malware Analysis Centre (BCMAC) will have a mechanism to automatically detect botnets and analyse the behaviour of a malware to find out if it is new or a modified version of an existing malware.

IT security is not far from becoming a topic of National concern. Introducing advanced technologies and products, conducting high-end research, sharing intelligence through comprehensive threat reports, creating awareness around cybersecurity and preparing to deal with cyberattacks is the need of the hour. Quick Heal has been proactive on all these fronts and has been successful in implementing and executing various initiatives.
