OnePlus 5T to soon get open beta for Android Oreo

OnePlus is one of the few companies that has made sure that its smartphone run on the latest Android operating system. However, that does not include the latest offering from the Chinese smartphone maker — OnePlus 5T. The handset still runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, but that is soon going to change.
OnePlus’ official German Twitter handle has announced that it is planning to roll out the Open Beta for Android Oreo on the OnePlus 5T.
When translated from German, the Tweet reads, “Christmas is over, but we still have a present for you! 😉 How about the Open Beta for Android Oreo on the # OnePlus5T !” At the time we checked, there is no such update on the OnePlus 5T but should be there soon.
The OnePlus 5T was launched last month as the as the successor OnePlus 5 and shares the same price as the smartphone. The 6GB RAM+64GB variant is priced at Rs 32,999 and the 8GB RAM+128GB variant is priced at Rs 37,999.
With nearly the same looks as the OnePlus 5, the handset has a few improvements.
Boasting of a bezel-less design, it has a 6.1-inch Full Optic AMOLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer. As a first, the OnePlus 5T comes with a software-based Face Unlock feature, which has been confirmed to be rolled out to OnePlus 5 as well.
It runs on 2.45GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and is backed by a 3300mAh battery. On the camera front, it sports a dual rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel Sony IMX398 with 1.12-micron pixels and an aperture of f/1.7 along with a 20MP Sony IMX376K camera sensor with f/1.7 aperture and dual LED flash. On the front, it has a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376K.
Available only in Midnight Black colour variant, the smartphone runs on OxygenOS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
