OnePlus 5 to launch today: Here’s how to watch the live stream

The Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is all set to launch its latest flagship for this year. The sucessor to the OnePlus 3T — the OnePlus 5 is almost here. The company will unveil the smartphone today at its global launch at various locations. The launch event will be live streamed on the UK website of the company- If you visit the website it will show you the time left in the launch event. The event will begin at 12PM EDT (9.30PM IST).
Recently, the company gave a sneak peek into the upcoming smartphone in TV ads during the recent India-Pakistan ICC Cup final. OnePlus said in a tweet, “Caught our ad during the #IndvsPak match? Tweet a screenshot of your favourite moment with #OnePlus5Launch & get a chance to win the phone!”
The smartphone will launch in India on June 22 and will be exclusively available on Amazon starting the same day.
The company has already confirmed that the device will be powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. It will come in two variants – 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage.
OnePlus also teased a couple of features of the handset’s OxygenOS version. One of the teasers on Twitter hints at different theme styles for the OnePlus 5. “Software designed with style and refinement,” says the tweet along with an image.
Another teaser shows the OxygenOS’ ability to let users change the colour tone of the screen, a feature widely known as the Bluelight filter manually. “Get a taste of how we’ve refreshed OxygenOS,” says the tweet.
OnePlus has already revealed the back panel of its upcoming OnePlus 5 smartphone through a teaser. The design, highlighting the smartphone’s dual rear camera setup, however, didn’t get much positive response from OnePlus fans with many terming it a clone of iPhone 7 Plus.
The company has already got 5.25 lakh registrations for the device in China on website.
