Ola Slashes Rates For Ride-Sharing Feature To Rs 6/km In Mumbai
Ola has slashed rates for its ride-sharing feature “Ola Share” to Rs 6 per k.m.
“With Ola Share, we are addressing the need for reliable and affordable mobility solutions, at scale. For users, there is the convenience of an air-conditioned cab ride at 50% of the fare, and an option to share it within identified social groups,” Ishan Gupta, category head — shared mobility at Ola, said in a statement.
Ola Share was launched with the intention of reducing pollution, and promoting congestion free roads.
A maximum of three people can share a cab together via Ola Share. Driver-partners get an option to log into the Share platform, getting instant access to increased revenue of up to 50%, through continuous fulfilment of booking requests, it said.
A user can join multiple groups or simply choose to share a ride with anyone.
Last month, Uber had announced the launch of UberPool, its carpooling service in India. The service is available in beta in Bengaluru.
