Nokia 6 to launch in the US in July

Finland-based HMD Global is all set to launch its Nokia 6 smartphone in the US next month. Nokia launched the smartphone in China in January this year. The company has now started rolling out the device to more regions across the globe. The smartphone will be available on Amazon website at $229. The smartphone comes in Matte Black and Silver colour options.

Nokia 6 runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box and supports dual-SIM cards. It has a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution display with 2.5D curved glass coating and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The handset is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor along with Adreno 505 GPU and 4GB LPDDR3 RAM. On the storage front, the Nokia 6 comes with an inbuilt 64GB storage, which can expanded via a microSD card up to 128GB.

The optics front of the Nokia 6 is powered by a 16MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Autofocus and f/2.0 aperture. There is also an 8MP front-facing camera with 84-degree wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture.

Recently, a report surfaced online suggesting that HMD global is working on a new Nokia smartphone, which it plans to launch in coming months.

Likely to be called Nokia 9, the yet-to-be-announced handset is said to sport a 5.3-inch QHD display of 1440×2560 pixel resolution. The display is expected to offer 530-nits of brightness and will come with an ‘Always On’ feature. The smartphone is also expected to have a physical Home button with an embedded fingerprint sensor placed below the display.

Expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, the handset is also likely to have 64GB of internal storage.
