Nokia 3310 goes on pre-order in Europe, India launch in June

Earlier this month, an online report suggested that HMD Global will be launching the ‘reimagined’ version of Nokia’s classic 3310 in second quarter of the year. And now, the feature phone has gone up for pre-order in Germany and Austria. It will officially go on sale from April 28.
According to the listing, spotted by NokiaPowerUser website, the Nokia 3310 will have a price of EUR 49 (roughly Rs 3,400). HMD Global has already confirmed that there won’t be any 3G version of the Nokia 3310.
For those unaware, the ‘new’ Nokia 3310 runs Series 30+ and features a 2.4-inch QVGA display. It has a 2MP primary camera and supports microSD cards. The feature phone is claimed to offer 22 hours of talk time and one-month of standby time. The phone also has an upgraded version of the classic ‘Snake’ game pre-installed.
The phone comes in variety of colour options – Yellow, Grey, Blue and Red. The handset is now also slimmer than its previous avatar.
According to another report by Economic Times website, HMD Global will be launching three new Android-powered Nokia smartphones, as well as the ‘new’ Nokia 3310 in India in June this year.
The report further suggested that the company is planning to build a strong offline presence in India, using a network of 400 distributors and 300 service centres.
HMD Global’s India vice president Ajey Mehta said, “We will expand the portfolio and have a presence across price segments. However, we will not be the cheapest smartphone brand in the market. While pricing will be benchmarked against competition, but it will be as per the value and experience we provide.”
