Nokia 2 smartphone with 4000mAh battery goes up for pre-orders

Nokia 2, HMD Global’s cheapest smartphone launched this year, is now up for pre-orders. The smartphone was launched globally in an event held in India at an average global price of EUR 99 (roughly Rs. 7,500).
The smartphone has gone on pre-orders in Russia at a price tag of RUB 7,990 (roughly Rs. 8,800). It can be ordered from the company’s official website.
HMD Global is yet to reveal the India price of the Nokia 2 or when it will be going on sales. However, speculation suggests the smartphone’s price in India to be around Rs 6,999.
Given the specifications and price tag, the smartphone goes in direct competition with the likes of Moto C and Xiaomi Redmi 4A. Nokia 2 is the cheapest in the series and is aimed for those who are looking for all the basic features in a handset. It sports a metal frame along with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection at the front and a polycarbonate body at the back.
The budget handset runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS and is promised by the company to get Android 8.0 Oreo as well. It sports a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution LTPS screen with 16:9 aspect ratio.
The Nokia 2 is being marketed mainly for its 4100mAh battery, which can run for 2 days. Under-the-hood the dual-SIM smartphone is powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor, along with 1GB RAM and 8GB inbuilt storage. It can be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card.
With Nokia 2, users get a 5MP front-facing fixed focus camera and an 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash. They also get Google Assistant. Connectivity options of the smartphone include GPS, GLONASS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, FM Radio and Bluetooth. It measures 143.5×71.3×9.30mm and comes in three colour variants – Copper Black, Pewter Black and White.
