Nokia 1 Android Go smartphone expected to launch in March 2018

It seems that HMD Global is all set to launch the first Nokia-branded Android Go smartphone next year. Android Go is designed for regions with slow internet connectivity and has been designed to work smoothly even on lower-end smartphones.
A Russian tipster Eldar Murtazin has revealed that the Finnish company will launch the new Nokia 1 smartphone with Google’s Android Oreo (Go edition) next year in March. He tweeted that the smartphone is expected to come with an HD display with 720×1280 pixel resolution. It is claimed to offer 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage. The tipster also hinted at the price of the device in the tweet. It is expected that the company will price the device at RUB 5,990, which translates into Rs 6,670.
As per rumours it is expected that the smartphone will come with lightweight Google Apps like Files Go, Google Maps Go, and YouTube Go.
The tipster also revealed that Chinese smartphone maker Huawei is also working on an Android Go smartphone.
In October this year, HMD Global launched its budget smartphone Nokia 2 in India. Priced at Rs 6,999, the smartphone is at all the leading retail stores in the country. The USP of the smartphone is its 4000mAh battery. The company claims that the smartphone can last up to 2 days on a single charge.
The Nokia 2 is the first smartphone in this budget segment to come with a Google Assistant out-of-the-box. The device is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone offers 8GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB by adding a microSD card. The device sports an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash and 5MP front camera with fixed focus.
