iPhone 6 purported case video tips a 6.1mm thin profile

iphone 6 case leak unbox therapy youtubeWe have already seen the alleged iPhone 6 case compared alongside the iPhone 5s, Nexus 5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Now a new video posted by Unbox Therapy on YouTube named ‘iPhone 6 – How Thin?’, shows the purported iPhone 6 case compared to the current generation Apple iPod touch.

Notably, the video shows the alleged iPhone 6 4.7-inch model’s case with similarities to the iPod touch in thickness and volume control button placement. For those unaware, the current generation iPod touch sports a 6.1mm thickness and the video purportedly shows how the alleged iPhone 6 case ‘exactly’ fits the iPod touch.

The video again shows the alleged iPhone 6 case housing the slightly modified volume buttons, akin to the ones seen on the current generation iPod touch. The video also compared the iPhone 5s with the alleged iPhone 6 case, which suggested that the next iPhone handset could sport a thin profile. It’s worth mentioning that the iPhone 5s features a 7.6mm thick profile.

A recent report even claimed that the ‘super thin’ 5.5-inch iPhone 6 was reportedly delayed due to supply constraints. The report claimed that the iPhone 6 would pack battery cells that are 2mm in thickness, instead of the normal thick battery components.

Reports have for while been indicating that Apple might finally enter the screen size battle with the launch of the iPhone 6, and its rumoured two display size variants – 5.5-inch and 4.7-inch.

A recent report suggested that the next generation iPhone would come with curved edges accompanied by curved display glass.

While the alleged high-end 5.5-inch iPhone model was previously reported to boast of a higher screen resolution at 1080×1920 pixels (full-HD) with a pixel density of 401ppi, the 4.7-inch model is said to pack a lower resolution screen at 750×1334 pixels with a pixel density of 326ppi.

However, all these leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt as Apple has not mentioned anything about the upcoming device and the leaks’ legitimacy remain questionable.
