Motorola has Announced Door To Door Service Through Mobile Vans

Motorola has announced that it will be providing door to door service through mobile vans, as it announced that it has sold more than three million smartphones in India.

motorola_BzwqxMotorola has an exclusive online partnership with Flipkart and will open first experience center in Bangalore while kick starting the mobile van services that will allow users to get service support in least time frame.

To start with, it plans to start mobile service centres in Delhi. Its Moto Care vans will travel through the city to provide door-to-door service to customers and reduce service time.

Flipkart’s VP of retail Michael Adanani said that to enable Motorola to reach millions of consumers, the e-commerce site put in special work. “When the Moto E was launched, we could ship the Moto phones to only around 200 cities. But now we can ship these phones to nearly 1100 cities in India,” he said.

Motorola India head Amit Boni said that the company would be doubling down on its business operations here. While it will continue to focus on selling devices online, Motorola is planning to open product experience centers.

“We will open one such center in Bangalore soon. People will be able to try and experience Motorola phones at these centers. We plan to start with 5 to 10 such zones in next six months,” he said.

The experience centers don’t mean Motorola is entering the offline retail. Motorola phones still won’t be available, at least officially, in your local store. “We are e-commerce evangelists. For nowhere is no change in the strategy,” said Boni.

These Motorola Experience centers will have a chaos counter, where customers can visit and get help resolving their issues. Users can also get software updates flashed at these experience centers. Motorola expects these stores to fill the void consumers are experiencing with the current online sales model.

The company has sold over 3 Million Motorola smartphones in just 10 months in India, which is an achievement considering zero presence on the ground. Motorola will not retail devices from these experience centers. The online sales model will remain unchanged.
