Samsung Will Be Made Z1 Tizen OS based Smartphone In India

Tizen OS-based smartphone has received a healthy market response in India, which has provided a boost to Samsung’s confidence level with their new product. Now the Korea-based tech giant is planning to manufacture the Z1 smartphone at their Noida, U.P., unit soon.

In a conversation with PTI, Samsung India VP for mobile and IT division’s marketing, Asim Warsi, said that consumers in India have shown immense positive response towards the new Z1 smartphone, which has an easy-to-use interface and also a unique design. Following the wide consumer acceptance, the company has decided that Z1 will now be manufactured in the company’s Noida plant in U.P.

The Noida facility has the capability to produce more than four million units every month and the facility produces both budget and high-end smartphones in the country. Samsung Z1 was launched in India first with the price tag of Rs 5,700, mainly aimed at smartphone beginners. Warsi also claimed that the phone will be launched in Bangladesh soon.

For now, just a few devices run on Samsung’s Tizen OS, including some of its smartwatches. Most of the Samsung smartphones run on Android. Samsung’s Tizen is a threat to Google’s Android in the future of mobile devices.
