Microsoft’s Windows 10 S powered laptop leaked in images

Microsoft’s upcoming cloud-based OS, being tipped as Windows 10 S, is all but confirmed to be unveiled at the company’s New York event that’s scheduled for May 2 (7 PM IST). Although not much is known about the OS, it’ll most likely go against Google’s Chrome OS.
Now a laptop with which the OS may debut has leaked in a set of images on Twitter. Going by the name WalkingCat (@h0x0d) on Twitter, the tipster has also mentioned some of the specs of the upcoming ‘Surface Laptop’.
The notebook PC is expected to feature a ‘PixelSense’ display and come in four colour variants — Platinum, Burgundy, Cobalt Blue and Graphite Gold. It is also likely to have an Alcantara-cover keyboard, as mentioned in one of the tweets.
A short 360-degree video of the laptop has been posted by the Twitter user. It’s seen as having a USB port, DisplayPort, 3.5mm headphone plug and a Surface Dock connector. It has also been mentioned that the laptop will weigh around 1.2Kg and measure 14.47mm across at its thickest point.
Another famed tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) has shared some of the images of the upcoming Microsoft ‘Surface Laptop’, confirming the design.
On a related note, Windows Central website recently revealed the minimum hardware requirements for Microsoft’s ‘Cloudbooks’. We assume that the laptop is the same as the one leaked in the aforementioned images.
According to the leaked documents, the ‘Cloudbook’ will run on Windows 10 S and could have 10+ hours of battery life. It’s expected to be powered by a quad-core (Intel Celeron or better) CPU paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, in addition to eMMC/SSD storage support. External stylus support and touch display are also expected.
The report further mentions that Windows 10 S will come with a few improvements over Windows RT. The new OS will have a refined store for Universal Windows Apps, upgrade path to Windows 10 Home or Pro and support for Win32 apps via ‘Project Centennial’ bridge.
