Microsoft Whiteboard app for Windows 10 leaks in a video

Microsoft recently unveiled its refreshed Surface Pro line-up. Along with it, the company also showcased a new app called Microsoft Whiteboard for Windows 10. The company has not yet revealed exactly when it will be rolling out the app.

But it seems like the app has made an appearance online before its official rollout.

Windows Blog Italia website got its hands on the unreleased app and demoed some of the its features, including automatic inking to shapes and tables, the ability to see angles on different shapes drawn by the user using the stylus and more.

The app will also have Microsoft’s Bing search engine built-in. It will let users write anything inside the dedicated search box using the stylus and give results accordingly.

The Verge website says Microsoft Whiteboard app in the video is the ‘Education Preview’ version. It includes basic brushes with different strokes of thickness. It’s also possible to directly pull images from the web on to the presentation. Being a collaboration tool, Microsoft Whiteboard App will let users draw on a canvas in real time. Microsoft said it will be making the app available for Windows 10 devices later this year.

Back in May this year, Microsoft launched its Google Chrome OS rival — Windows 10 S . The new cloud-based variant of Windows 10 is aimed primarily at the education sector and is designed to run even on low-end devices.

The company claimed that the laptops running Windows 10 S will start at as low as $189 and will be arriving ‘this summer’. The OS will come with free Office 365 education licence, along with Microsoft Teams collaboration service.

The Redmond-based tech firm also launched a new laptop — Surface Laptop, which is powered by the Windows 10 S and has a 13.5-inch PixelSense display, along with a keyboard made up of alcantara material. It will be powered by either of Intel Core i5 and i7 CPUs.
