The 64-bit version of Debian GNU/Linux for Intel architecture is one of the most popular Linux distributions in the market.It is highly used and recommended by the developers, governments, enterprises, application architects and derivative developers alike.
Microsoft users can use Debian-based virtual machines in Azure using Debian 7 and Debian 8.
Microsoft and Credativ will continue to develop Debian. With GNU/Linux under its belt, Microsoft now offers support to these eight Linux distributions namely Canonical Ubuntu, CentOS, CoreOS, Debian GNU/Linux, Oracle Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise, openSUSE and Redhat. They are running on Azure.
