Wheels Electronics is utilizing Micrel’s range of RF IC solutions. The MICRF211 and MICRF213, for example, are general purpose, 3V QwikRadio® receivers operating at 433.92MHz with typical sensitivity of -110dBm and 315MHz with typical sensitivity of -110dBm, respectively. Another one of Micrel’s RF solutions is the MICRF113 is a high-performance, easy-to-use, single-chip ASK Transmitter IC for remote wireless applications in the 300MHz to 450MHz frequency band. The MICRF211 functions as a super-heterodyne receiver for OOK and ASK modulation up to 10kbps and the MICRF213 is a super-heterodyne receiver for OOK and ASK modulation up to 7.2kbps.

The down-conversion mixer provides image rejection on both the MICRF211 and MICRF213. All post-detection data filtering is provided on each of the devices and the user need only configure the device with a set of easily determined values, based upon data rate, code modulation format, and desired duty-cycle operation. These products are ideal for industrial and consumer applications where simplicity and form factor are important.
