Meizu M6s with Samsung Exynos 7872 processor launched in China

The bezel-less smartphones trend of 2017 appears all set to go mainstream in 2018. As most smartphones launched this year boast of this feature. The newest to join the bandwagon is Meizu M6s smartphonelaunched in China. The smartphone is the company’s first smartphone launch of the year.

Meizu M6s smartphone also has some other firsts to its credit. It is Meizu’s first smartphone to come with 18:9 aspect ratio. It is also the first Meizu smartphone to run on Samsung’s latest mid-range processor, Exynos 7872. The new chipset is part of the Samsung’s Exynos 5 series.

Meizu M6s has rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, which the company claims, unlocks the smartphone in 0.2 seconds. The phone comes with series of navigation gestures called the mBack integrated on to the Home screen button, called Halo button.

The handset comes in two storage variants. The base model features 32GB internal storage paired with 3GB RAM, and priced at CNY 999 and the second variant is priced at CNY 1,199 and has 64GB internal storage with 4GB RAM. The device is already up for registrations, and is scheduled to go on sale on January 19 via Lynx, Suning, and Jingdong. Starting January 20, the smartphone will be available on Meizu Store. The Meizu M6s comes in Champagne Gold, Matte Black, Moonlight Silver and Cobalt Blue color variants.

In terms of specs, the Meizu M6s has a 5.7-inch HD+ 2.5D curved glass in-cell display of 1440 x 720p resolution. It is powered with Mali-G71 GPU and offers external storage support (via microSD card) up tp 128GB. Backed by a 3,000mAh battery, it runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box, with the company’s Flyme OS 6.2 layer on top. As for camera, the smartphone features a 16MP rear camera with Samsung CMOS lens with f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera is said to come with adaptive beauty technology, to capture better selfies. In terms of connectivity, the Meizu M6s offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.2.
