LG starts rolling out Android Oreo update for LG G6 users


South Korean tech giant LG has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo update for its flagship smartphone LG G6 in China.
According to a report by Phonearena, a LG G6 owner in China has shared the screenshots of the OTA update, he has received for Android Oreo. Recently, the company rolled out the stable version of Android 8.0 Oreo for its LG V30 smartphone in South Korea.
The update will bring various features like picture-in-picture mode, advanced app shortcuts, adaptive icons, capability to snooze notifications and others.
The company has still not revealed any details about the global roll out of Android 8.0 Oreo for its LG G6 users.
To recall, LG launched the LG G6 in India in April this year at Rs 51,990. However, the smartphone received several price cuts and is now selling at Rs 33,990.
The LG G6 is the first smartphone of the company to come with bezel-less display. It sports a ‘unique’ 5.7-inch ‘FullVision’ display that has a resolution of 1440×2880 pixels. With Google Assistant on-board, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor.
Running Android 7.0 Nougat operating system it offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. The users can add more storage by inserting a microSD card. The LG G6 comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup. The smartphone house two 13MP sensor modules, the rear camera arrangement is complemented by laser autofocus, triple-axis OIS and LED flash. For selfie-lovers, a 5MP front shooter is available with a 100-degree wide angle lens and f/2.2 aperture.
Weighing 163g, the LG G6 is backed by a 3300mAh battery, which is 500mAh more as compared to last year’s G5.
