LG ‘Odin’ is the company’s new mobile SoC

gsmarena_001(11)LG has officially confirmed that its Odin processor has two versions – Quad core (running at up to 2.2Ghz per core and including an ARM Mali-T604 GPU) and octa-core, according to a Korean newspaper DigitalTimes,

The eight core version of the Odin may be paired with ARM latest Mali-T760 GPU.(More details in the link at bottom). The two SoCs are being tested as of now, but it’s still unclear when LG will announce them. Taiwanese manufacturer TMSC will be manufacturing these SOCs as LG doesn’t have its own facility.

Rumours regarding the launch of a mobile processor from LG have been around since the first half of this year. Earlier it was believed that Odin would power the LG G2. Reportedly, LG will use the quad core Odin for its smart TVs, while the octa core will be for smartphones and tablets.

There is no official confirmation of the exact date of its debut, we’ll have to wait for LG to officially announce the above claims.
