Lenovo Yoga A12 tablet with Halo keyboard launched

57005086Lenovo has added a new Android tablet to its Yoga line-up – A12. The highlight of the device is the unique Halo keyboard, which debuted in the company’s Yoga Book hybrid PC, launched last year. The tablet will be available in the US at a starting price of $299. However, there’s no word about its price and availability in India yet. The Chinese tech giant claims that the Yoga A12 is 5.4mm thick at its slimmest edge. The device reportedly weighs under 1kg, which makes it lighter and more portable than similar tablets. The Yoga A12 has a 12.2-inch HD display, along with two Dolby Atmos-powered speakers. Lenovo Yoga A12 is powered by an Intel Atom X5 CPU paired with 2GB of RAM. There’s also 32GB of internal storage. The touch-sensitive Halo keyboard provides haptic feedback and also learns users’ learning habits, providing suggestions using the built-in word prediction functionality.
“In a nod to the Yoga Book’s design, the Yoga A12’s Halo keyboard helps it achieve its thin profile. We completely re-envisioned the layout of the chassis, fusing parts in several component layers into one unified whole. Finally, we added a layer of carefully chosen glass for the touch-screen, varnished with anti-glare coating for the right matte finish,” reads the company’s official blog post.
The Lenovo Yoga A12 has a 360-degree rotational hinge and is supported by battery that is claimed to run for up to 13 hours on a single charge. The tablet will be available in two colour variants – Gunmetal Grey and Rose Gold.
Lenovo is rumoured to launch a new tablet at the upcoming MWC 2017 technology tradeshow. The Chinese tech company may launch the Tab3 8 Plus tablet, which was also spotted on GeekBench benchmarking website recently.
