Karbonn Forays Into AI Launches Two Handsets Starting At Rs 5,490
Karbonn has ventured into Artificial Intelligence with the launch of two new smartphones. The devices – Fashion Eye and Fashion Eye 2.0, are priced at Rs 5,490 at Rs 6,490 respectively.
Karbonn has partnered with Staqu, an Artificial Intelligence research company, to introduce AI-enabled fashion search functionality in the smartphones. Both handsets come equipped with a Fashion app that allows users to search any outfit by simply taking its picture. The AI-powered search engine of the app automatically recognizes the print, patterns and colours of the outfit to give relevant results, aggregated from over 4 million fashion products. It also allows users to compare prices and pick up the best deals available on outfits and accessories of their choice.
In terms of specifications, both Fashion Eye and Fashion Eye 2.0 are powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor and run Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. They have an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing shooter.
The devices feature a 5-inch HD display of 720×1280 pixel resolution and are backed by a 2,000mAh battery.
The only differences are in the RAM and storage capacities of the two devices. While the Fashion Eye offers 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage (expandable up to 32GB), the Fashion Eye 2.0 comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built storage (expandable via microSD cards).
Karbonn recently launched its Aura Power smartphone at Rs 5,990. The phone has a 5-inch WVGA display of 480×854 pixel resolution. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and offers dual-sim functionality, with one 4G-enabled sim at a time.
The Aura Power features an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front facing camera for selfies. The handset is powered by a 1GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. There’s 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB using microSD cards.
