Instagram now lets you save live videos, here’s how

Instagram users now have another new feature. The Facebook-owned company now lets users save their own live videos on their phones at the end of a broadcast. However, the company clarified that the live videos will continue to disappear from the app like they did before.
“Starting today, you’ll have the option to save your live video to your phone at the end of a broadcast. While live videos will continue to disappear from the app when you’re done, this update gives you the flexibility to hold onto your video and re-watch it later, especially if something exciting happens during your broadcast that you want to remember or share,” announced the company in a blog post.
The feature brings Instagram at par with Facebook Live and Twitter’s Periscope, both of which already have this option. Instagram launched live video feature in November last year.
Once the live video ends, you just need to simply tap ‘Save’ in the upper right corner. This will save the video on your mobile device. However, only the video is saved not its comments, likes or any other live interaction. “After saving, tap Done and your live video will be saved to your camera roll but will no longer be available in the app,” said Instagram’s blog post.
The live video saving feature comes as an update to Instagram for both Android and iOS users. The upgrade will bring the app version to 10.12.
One of the most recent and major changes made in Instagram was the introduction of posting multiple videos and images in a single post. The app last month started letting users share up to 10 photos or videos in a single post. Once posted, your followers can see them by simply swiping them from side-to-side. It is also possible to tap and hold the images or videos to change the order. In addition, each image/video gets its own filter and manual editing options.
