Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka Rewards iPhone 6s to 3000 top performers

Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka is the Santa Claus of this season for Infosys employees. Top 3,000 performers of the company have been gifted with iPhone 6, which is not a very usual trend in this company. It might be a step to curb the high attrition rate.

vishal_sikkaA mail was also sent by Sikka addressing all the employees as friends. As reported by TOI, the mail said, “Thinking back on 2014 feels good, doesn’t it? There was so much you wanted to accomplish with seemingly so little time to do it all. Now, as you stand on the brink of the New Year and look back, there is the satisfying realization that a great part of it actually got done. This feeling is not unlike the one Kahlil Gibran evokes in his lyrical commentary on work – `When you work, you are a flute through whose heart the whispering of the hours turns to music’.”

Sikka also appreciated his employees saying whatever Infosys has achieved today is because of all the efforts and energy put in by the employees. He also said that a celebration is must to acknowledge all those efforts. And he happily announced the Holiday Bonus as a new Apple iPhone 6 which will value the company employees. It has come as a huge surprise for all the employees as they have not been treated in this way ever. It’s a trend these days to offer such perks to top performers.

Recently HCL Technologies offered abroad trips and Mercedes cars to 130 top employees. But in case of Infosys, experts feel that the company management is just trying to decrease the attrition rate. Infosys is one of the top five Indian IT companies. Its attrition rate reached a record high of 20.1 per cent in the September quarter. The company employs 0.17 million people and they are also offering quarterly promotions and involving employees in decision-making processes. Sikka is also personally communicating with those employees who have resigned to retain them and he is also inviting ex-employees to come back to Infosys.

In his latest email communication, he wrote praising his employees, “As we march forward, please continue to look for ways – little and large – that improve efficiency for us and our clients. Look for new ideas that better prepare us and our clients for the future. Learn and teach a new skill or two. Everyone around you looks up to you and it is this approach to work that will help us evolve into the next-generation IT services company that we aspire to be – with you at the heart and centre of it.”
