Huawei set to launch Honor 8 Pro smartphone in India

Huawei has announced plans for its next Honor-series flagship smartphone. To be called Honor 8 Pro, the smartphone will be launched in India later this month. Other details such as price and availability will be revealed by the company later.

We do know from industry insiders that the handset will sport a dual camera setup at its back, comprised of two 12MP modules with f/2.2 aperture, laser auto-focus, LED flash, and 4K video recording functionality. The smartphone will also have an 8MP front facing snapper for selfies and video calls.

Huawei is said to be focusing on the battery life with the Honor 8 Pro .

As the name suggests, Honor 8 Pro is the successor to last year’s Honor 8, which is available at a price of Rs 29,999.

The Huawei Honor 8 has a 5.2-inch full HD 2.5D curved display of 1080×1920 pixel resolution. The display comes with an ‘Eye Care’ technology that reduces background light to reduce strain on user’s eyes.

Powered by an octa-core Kirin 950 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, Honor 8 comes with 32GB of internal storage and accepts microSD cards of up to 128GB in size.

The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, skinned with the company’s own EMUI. The hybrid dual-SIM device boasts of 12MP rear dual cameras with dual-tone LED flash, in addition to an 8MP front-shooter for selfies.

Connectivity options include 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C. The smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery with fast-charging support.

Honor 8 comes in Pearl White, Sunrise Gold, Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue colour options. It also sports a fingerprint sensor.
