HTC One gets major camera update; system performance tweaked as well

For once, the release details of the update are fairly liberal with the details, and this is certainly a major update to rectify the less than mind-blowing performance of the One’s snapper.

HTC has announced that its flagship smartphone, the One, will get an important update to improve camera performance. The details also suggest that the update will tweak system performance for the better. The update version 1.29.401.13 will be rolling out first for the European version of the HTC One, and subsequently for smartphones in other regions globally, although there is lack of clarity on the timelines. SlashGear reported the roll out of this update.

For once, we get to see a fairly detailed changelog, impressing upon all the tweaks and changes this update brings in. First up is the audio capture for videos, including when you use the Zoe feature. There will be significant noise reduction when you are recording a slow motion video. Non-HDR images will see improved colour reproduction and exposure in certain conditions. Apart from the camera update, HTC’s release log says “Improved system performance and stability”.

No, this update will not add any ultrapixels! But, what it’ll do is hopefully improve the less than impressive camera of the HTC One. Also, this update does not bring in any update for Android or for HTC Sense with Blinkfeed.
