Honor 8 Pro smartphone to launch in India soon with GoPro Quik app

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor recently announced its plans for its next Honor-series flagship smartphone. To be called Honor 8 Pro, the smartphone will be launched in India later this month.

Now, the company has entered into a partnership with action camera manufacturer GoPro for the Honor 8 Pro. As part of the association, GoPro’s Quik Mobile video-editing app will come pre-installed on the smartphone.

The photo gallery of the upcoming Honor 8 Pro reportedly uses a new feature called Highlights, which automatically selects best photos and videos by the users. With a tap of the button, Quik generates a video synchronized to the beat of selected music. From there, users can share the video or further customize it with additional filters, transitions, effects and more.

Huawei/Honor has previously partnered with Amazon Alexa, Leica, Porsche Design and Pantone Color Institute to develop their flagship smartphone.

Huawei launched the Honor 8 Pro in UK recently. An enhanced version of the Honor 8, the smartphone has a large 5.7-inch display of 2560×1440 pixel resolution. At 6.97mm, the Honor 8 Pro is among the slimmest smartphones in the market. It’s powered by an octa-core Kirin 960 SoC and 6GB of RAM. The headset features 64GB of onboard storage, with support for microSD cards. The UI layer (EMUI 5.1), built on top of Android 7.0 Nougat, adapts according to users’ habits.

Honor 8 Pro features a dual camera setup with two 12MP sensors at the back. It can record 4K videos as well. The smartphone includes VR support as well.
