Google Doodle Celebrates T20 World Cup 2016
The ICC T20 World Cup 2016 is all set to kick off in India. Google for one is getting into the Cricketing mood and has dedicated a doodle on its homepage to mark the beginning of the tournament. The doodle is quite simple in terms of the design, featuring a match being played in a Cricket stadium. The doodle shows crowd supporting both the teams, and flanking the cheering audience is a ‘Google’ banner.
Clicking on the doodle directs users to Google’s Cricket Schedule page. Below the schedule for upcoming Cricket matches, the search page also hosts numerous websites that offer live scores and updates. The Cricketing extravaganza is being hosted by India, and a total of 36 matches will be contested by 16 teams.
The Qualifying round starts today featuring eight teams, segregated into Group A and Group B. Teams contesting in this round include Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Ireland, Hong Kong, Netherlands, Scotland, Oman, and Zimbabwe.
The main round kicks off on March 15 with the first game featuring India and New Zealand. The first semi-final is scheduled for March 30, followed by the second semi-final on March 31, and the final on April 3.
