Gionee M6S Plus smartphone with 6GB RAM, 256GB storage launched in China

Gionee has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of a new smartphone in its home country of China. Dubbed M6S Plus, the handset has a starting price of CNY 3,499 and will go on sale starting May 2.
In terms of specifications, the Gionee M6S Plus has a 6-inch Full HD display of 1080×1920 pixel resolution. It’s powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor paired with 6GB of RAM. There’s also 64GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards of up to 256GB in size. The dual-SIM smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, with Gionee’s Amigo 3.5 UI layer running on top. There’s a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well.
For imaging duties, the Gionee M6S Plus has a 12MP rear camera with LED flash. There’s also an 8MP front-facing camera. Having 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS as major connectivity options, the smartphone is backed by a large 6,020mAh battery.
Recently, Gionee launched its A1 smartphone in India. Priced at Rs 19,999, the Gionee A1 is among the company’s very first smartphones to run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. The dual-SIM smartphone has a 5.5-inch Full HD display of 1080×1920 pixel resolution. It’s powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. There’s also 64GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards of up to 128GB in size.
The USP of the Gionee A1 is its 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens and selfie flash. The handset features a Bokeh-selfie feature, allowing users to blur the background for better selfies. There is also a 13MP rear camera included in the mix.
