Flipkart’s Big Billion Day Sale Turned Out To Be A ‘Flopkart’ Sale

Flipkart Big Billion Day Sale either appeared with ‘404 error message’ or ‘Out of stock’ teaser! Many left disappointed.

IT Voice News: While Flipkart’s Big Billion Day sale created lot of excitement and buzz among the buyers owing to its attractive sale offers at disruptive prices, it even left many buyers highly disappointed. The complaints were floating high on the social networking sites. Many buyers  faced the serFlipkart’s Big Billion Day salever crash  from the moment the sale  went active and there were  even few online buyers  who claimed that the e-  commerce brand  purportedly increased the  prices of the products and  was giving discount over those marked prices.

The social media was eager with the stories of dropped orders by ‘Flipkart’, many even tagged it as ‘Flopkart’ sale. However Flipkart touted that the response to the biggest ever sale was promising. It’s even helped them to achieve the desired target in within the initial hours of the sale. Flipkart promoters Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal even claimed that the sale created history in Indian e-commerce. It seems like Flipkart is preaching about the success based on the experiences of a handful of people.

What was even worse was that majority of products either went ‘out of stock’ within fraction of seconds or showed the 404 error on the site, making it more similar to the flash sale experience. Many customers took to twitter to mock the sale. Few even said that the ‘Flipkart’ sale had made IRCTC look much better.

There were even instances wherein the product page was showing a discounted price, but after picking up the product, the original prices came into frame. Hopefully the company had a big time learning experience and would try and make things better, if it comes up with the concept again.

Flipkart’s rival companies, Snapdeal and Amazon are also moving on to attract the crowd with their Diwali Bumper Sale offers. Among the items which were on sale at discount on Flipkart were tagged between 25 per cent to 55 per cent, and in some cases even up to 80 per cent, included different products across over 70 categories like mobile phones, flat panel LED televisions, SLR cameras, home entertainment products, fashion and lifestyle products, kitchen appliances and much more.
