Flipkart Gears Up To Make Its Big Billion Day’s Sale Hassle-Free

It seems that Flipkart has learnt from its last year’s Flipkartmistakes and is now taking no chances. The company has geared up to make its Big Billion Day’s sale hassle-free. The sale will start next week and online selling site has upgraded its technology, logistics and the seller base.

According to reports, the company will have 19,000 delivery boys, delivering to over 40,000 pin codes in India. At Dadri, in New Delhi, the company is making three warehouses.

The sale, this time will be for a longer duration and restricted to the app. The company gets, on an average, about 75 percent of traffic through mobile-only devices and it would peak during the discount sale to over 80 percent.

It is pertinent to mention here that in 2014, Flipkart’s Big Billion Day saw sales of over Rs 600 crore in just 10 hours. However, the one-day flash sale was full of technical and logistical problems, forcing company to apologised to customers.

Many customers reported automatic cancellation of orders. The company acknowledged that their experience was a bit sore.

To encourage sellers stock enough and deliver on time, Flipkart is offering return flight tickets from Paris, for four outperforming sellers. They will also get iPads.
