ESSCI And iQor India Join Hands To Provide Skill Development

Targets to create 20,000 jobs all over India in next 2 years

The Electronic Sector Skill Council of India (ESSCI) today iqorsigned a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with iQor, a global provider of customer contact solutions and product support services, for electronic sector skill development training of youth in India. The MoU was signed by Mr. N.K Mohapatra, C.E.O, Electronics Sector Skills Council of India and Mr. Sanjay Vidyarthi, Managing Director, IQOR India Private Limited.

iQor announced an investment of $200 million (around ₹1,300 crore) over the next three-five years to expand its market in India, which will help in creating 20,000 new jobs all over India.

Currently the company, the largest aftermarket services provider in the world, operates depot repair/refurbishment services at state-of-the-art facilities in Manesar (Gurgaon), Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore, and company owned-company operated premium customer-branded walk-in centers and on-site services in 82 cities and 17 states. iQor also operates a 1,000-seat contact center in the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR). The partnership with the ESSCI will help provide a standardized curriculum and training methods with the help of its strong 79 training partners.

Commenting on this partnership, Mr. NK Mohapatra, CEO, Electronic Sector Skill Council of India said, “India continues to be a hub for business process outsourcing for global market requirements. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with iQor reiterates the need for skilled resources in the country and it is a moment of pride for us to partner with them in this endeavour. ESSCI will extend the best of support through its public private ecosystem to enable growth for the company and at the same create opportunities of training and employment, for the youth exploring jobs in this sector.”

iQor India Private Limited, Managing Director, Mr. Sanjay Vidyarthi commented, “It is going to be a great partnership which will benefit both the company and the skill ecosystem here. Access to a certified skilled workforce will certainly act as a major driver for the growth for us in India and enhance our productivity. We hope our partnership will offer new and innovative opportunities for youth of India and scale up the efforts for skill development in the country.”

Following are the roles and responsibilities of the organisation:

Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI)

  • ESSCI will explore the creation or alignments of its existing Qualification Packs (QP) / National Occupation Standards to iQor India’s job roles and standards.

  • ESSCI and iQor India will jointly work for mapping Skills requirements of iQor India and attempt to upgrade its existing portfolio of National Occupational Standards to suit the requirement.

  • ESSCI will support iQor in development of their training eco-System across the country.

  • ESSCI would offer the countrywide training infrastructure to support iQor India Training Needs through its affiliated Training partners.

  • ESSCI and iQor will mutually explore possibility to address Global requirements of iQor for manpower acquisition and training needs.

  • ESSCI will support the training requirement of iQor through government schemes

  • ESSCI has a network of 79 training partners which will extend support to iQor, depending on their requirements. Some of them are IL&FS, UTL, Rooman Technologies, and Aspire etc.

iQor Global Services India Private Limited (iQor India)

  • Approve the requited Qualification pack ( QP ) For training

  • Will demand requirement of new QPs as per their separate needs

  • Will share their expansion plan and requirement of manpower in respective locations

  • iQor India will share its expertise and best practices in training, forecasting, trends, and research in manpower development

  • iQor will give preference to ESSCI certified candidates for placement
