Edimax Launches 10G SwitchXGS -5008 to Enhance the Networking Speed

Highly reliable and cost effective management solution with superior flexibility and high-speed 10GbE networking
Edimax Technology, a leading provider of premier networking solutions introduces Edimax Pro XGS-5008, a web-smart switch with 8-port 10 GbE. Designed for medium to small network environments, its standard 19-inch 1U rack-mount brackets allow for integration with the most widely used mounting systems on the market.
“Business in various sector (especially data centers and servers)and networking demands from these are growing day by day. Also, the demand for web-smart switches is increasing, due to its ability to handle business networks easily, quickly and cost-effectively,”said Sanjay Joshi, Country Manager at Edimax Technology.”As networking giants, Edimax brings a wealth of engineering experience through XGS-5008 to deliver robust enterprise level Ethernet solutions for growing SMBs at aggressive price points.”
Edimax XGS-5008 features smart network monitoring tools that allow for improved network efficiency including bandwidth control and VLAN. Using its web-based interface, administrators can set up VLANs to segregate traffic configure link aggregation settings to create fat traffic pipelines. Additionally, these features offer extra protection on the network edge and the password-protected configuration interface can be accessed remotely. XGS-5008 is a simpler and cost effective upgrade path to 10-Gigabit Ethernet thanks to backwards compatibility with Fast Ethernet and Gigabit networks using existing Cat 5e. With an existing network infrastructure running Cat 6a or Cat 7 cabling, customers can benefit from higher-grade copper wiring than Cat 5e – supporting higher bandwidth requirements for 10GbE Copper up to 100m using RJ45 connectors. 10GbE also delivers an affordable price point for SMBs and larger enterprises with constantly evolving networking demands.
